I also believe the truck stalling out in the middle of a highway was completely dangerous and I was lucky not be hit by anyone else. I the single provider of my family and don't have money to be throwing away on new vechical. I love the truck but I'm very disappointed with Ford not taking responsibility for having engineered a bad engine. I have kept up with the maintanance since have been the only owner of the truck. It seems to me Ford knows about the problem but are not willing to stand by their problem. As I later went online I found many people complaining about the same thing with Ford 5. As they uncovered the engine ii was told I would a new engine at the cost of $7500. There I was told that it a cam shaft issue. I drove the truck with almost no power to the mechanic. Just recently I was driving when I started to loose power, but this time started hear a loud banging coming from the engine. It has happened while I'm driving in the middle of traffic. This has to be addressed for safety reasons. This is not ok!!!! I replaced the throttle body myself without paying $800 at the Ford dealership. After reading online it seems that this is a common problem with these throttle body assembly's. ![]() This is totally unacceptable for this to just shutdown like this and cause serious danger for myself and those driving around me. Luckily there were people turning to prevent an 18 wheeler from coming towards me and the speed limit of 55 mph. ![]() This caused my truck to completely lose all function in the middle of a busy intersection with cross traffic. Ran my codes and noticed that it showed a p2112 code which was a fault with the throttle body response. I lost all control and had no throttle response and the truck went into idle mode and would not do anything until I put in park and then turned the truck off and then restarted the truck. My 2015 f150 with 100,700 miles on it completely stalled on me while pulling into traffic. I hope Ford takes this issue seriously and does a recall. For safety dealership said they did not want me to drive truck so they would keep it and would contact Ford to report issue and wait for their recommendation. On 4/24/21 I took my truck to the dealership where I purchased it the tech called me and told me that they ran several tests and the truck did not give any problem codes. This issue appears to be widespread and across multiple model years. From researching online forums the auto start/stop function appears to be faulty and needs to be fixed/recalled before someone is seriously injured or killed. I did some research online and also checked my VIN for any recalls and I was surprised to not find any. I am really concerned about this problem I felt very unsafe in my truck if this problem doesn't get resolved people can get in to an accident and get seriously injured or killed. And the first time this happened was on 2/20/21 I was pulling in to my driveway so stopping and doing so was not a safety problem. The same thing had happened on 3/18/21 while driving on a street going about 15 mph. ![]() Fortunately, there were no vehicle in front of me or behind me and I was not trying to turn at an intersection which could have resulted in a collision. The last time this happened was on 4/22/21 I was driving through a street going about 20 mph. For the 3rd time while I was driving my 2020 f150 stx with only 4,218 miles the engine shut off completely and displayed auto startstop shift to p, then restart engine on the dash display.
